Sheboygan, WI – The ACUITY “Storybook Year” Annual Report has received the honor of being chosen for the 2011 CLIO Awards Shortlist. An incredible feat considering only one half of one percent of the over 10,000 world-wide entries made it on this list. The book was also judged by the CLIO Awards to be the best annual report in the United States and one of the top four annual reports in the world! Other CLIO winners include the global advertising agency—Leo Burnett and companies such as Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola and IBM.
The CLIO Awards is one of the world’s most esteemed awards competitions for advertising, design and communications and the equivalent of an Oscar in the advertising world.
The book is filled with exaggerated pop-up illustrations of children’s poems with annual report information cleverly spun into the copy. Along with the pop up illustrations are small, pull-out panels on the edges of each spread and tiny pages with graph information.
“This was a GREAT project—certainly the biggest, the best and one of the most creative we ever worked on in our 30+ years in business. ACUITYallows us to be as creative as possible and their annual reports showcase ACUITY’s uniqueness in the insurance world. This one is over the top in uniqueness! We knew it was great but to be the best in the US, and top four internationally is phenomenal. We are very proud to be part of it and to be ranked with the likes of Leo Burnett.”, says Tim DuFour, President DuFour Advertising.
“The purpose of any advertising or marketing material, such as our Annual Report, is to grab someone’s attention, stop them in their tracks, and have them dwell on it long enough to make a lasting impression,” says Ben Salzmann, ACUITY President and CEO. “There’s nothing that does that like pop-up art because there is an intrinsic surprise factor. Being recognized by the CLIO Awards is validation of that.”
