Sheboygan, WI – DuFour Advertising has been awarded Gold and Platinum MarCom Awards in the 2010 competition. The creative international competition recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.
The Gold award recognizes work completed by DuFour Advertising for the Meal’s On Wheels’ fund raising “flip book” and the Platinum award is for their efforts in designing the 2009 ACUITY “Family Pizzaria” Annual Report.
The Meals On Wheels “flip book” features volunteers of all walks of life and of all ages. The pages are ’cut’ into three parts so the heads, torsos, and legs of the volunteers can be interchanged. “It was a super fun project to work on and also very gratifiying. MOW—a great organization and one who always encourages us use our creativity. We hope this piece was a successful tool in helping them sustain financial stability,” says Tim DuFour, President of DuFour Advertising.
The annual report, a round book that looks like a pizza, was delivered in a pizza box along with napkins, a placemat, crayons, recipe cards, mints, and coupon. The book highlights the company achievments in a menu-like format with images of Italian dishes on paper placemats that feature specially made KENKEN® and Sudoku® puzzles, mazes and recipe cards that correspond with the image on the pages.
“What makes these awards so significant is that they are truly an international competition,” says Ben Salzmann, ACUITY President and CEO, “ACUITY is honored to again be recognized on a global stage for marketing and communications creativity.”
The MarCom’s Awards are presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. As part of its mission, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) fosters and supports the efforts of creative professional who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Over the past few years the AMCP’s Advisory Board has allocated over $60,000 in grants to support the efforts of its members. That money was used for marketing materials for homeless shelters, orphanages, day camps, community theatres and arts centers and educational endeavors for the underprivileged, to name a few. This is the third piece created by DuFour for ACUITY to win a Platinum MarCom Award.
“We are always delighted when our work is honored for creative excellence,” states DuFour, “but most important, the awards are for our clients—a way to thank them for the trust and creative freedom they grant us.”
